Job Description
If you want to make a real difference for our understanding, management and use of marine coastal ecosystem, then you may be the person we are looking for to join us as leader of the section of Coastal Ecology at DTU Aqua. We are looking for a senior researcher with a strong international network, a flair for leadership and a research profile suited to implement the strategy of the section, institute and university. The candidate will be leading a strong and diverse team of dedicated researchers and technicians and will have the opportunity to collaborate with a range of leading researchers across the institute and develop your personnel management skills at a leading European marine research institute. The section is located both at campus in Nykøbing Mors, where the majority of the staff and facilities are located, and at DTU’s Lyngby Campus. Substantial physical presence is expected at campus in Nykøbing Mors.
Responsibilities and qualifications
As section leader of a research unit of approx. 40 staff, you will be responsible for the strategic development of the unit and expected to manage and organise resources concerning personnel, finances, and infrastructure. You will also be responsible for coordinating the section’s contribution to the strategic goals of the institute and university, drawing on and integrating expertise from within the section and institute. This includes coordinating contributions to advice to government agencies and other public and private entities. Your primary tasks will be to:
Advance research on the impact of human use, pressure factors and environmental changes on marine coastal ecosystems and present the achievements in peer-reviewed publications, international conferences, expert meetings and research based advice.
Lead and contribute to the preparation of national and international grant proposals.
Contribute to teaching and supervision of PhD, Bachelor and Master students
Establish and strengthen collaborations with universiti
