1 Head of Game & Mixed Reality department (f/m/x) / Senior Lecturer (f/m/x) TasksTasks of department head: Coordination of all courses as well as internal and external lecturers in the department in close and constructive coordination with the course directorsPlanning and organizing the deployment of personnel in the department in coordination with the department management, course management and Head of ResearchImplementation of the department's quality goals in teaching, in particular optimization and evaluation of teaching and support of the Course management in optimizing the quality of teaching. Subject-related collaboration in the updating and further development of the curricula in the study and teaching offerings in the department (possibly also across departments). Promoting interdisciplinarity. Support in positioning the degree programs in the department as well as collaboration in the marketing activities of the degree programs. Tasks Senior Lecturer (f/m/x): Teaching in basic and in-depth courses in software/game development and mixed reality in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Code and Interactive Systems to the extent of up to 16 SWS (also in English) Participation in the coordination and development of courses and teaching materials in the game and mixed reality department Supervision of scientific work and student projects Participation in the acquisition and implementation of (research) projects in the degree program Academic and organizational cooperation in the degree program or participation in the qualitative further development of the bachelor's and master's degree programs Development and maintenance of corporate and business contacts (cooperations, projects, internships) Profile Completed University studies (diploma, master) in the field of computer science. Relevant doctorate desiredRelevant practical experience and in-depth knowledge in several of the following areas:Game development: game development, game engines, tools and workflowsProgramming: object-oriented programming in C# or C++, engine scripting, gameplay programmingGraphics: computer graphics (e.g. OpenGL, Vulcan, CUDA), neural rendering, Gaussian splattingGame design: mechanics, balancing, level design, experience DesignGenerative AI, VR/AR/MR: (Generative) AI for interactive systems/games, virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality mind. 3 years of relevant professional experience outside of the university sector (min. 50% full-time equivalent over three years) since obtaining a university degree. Several years of teaching experience in the higher education sector. Research experience and publications are an advantage. Pedagogical-didactic competence. Excellent practical skills and ability to work together in multidisciplinary tasks. German and English skills appropriate to the position. Sensitivity and mindfulness in dealing with diversity. High communicative and social skills Competence Offer Hours: 40 hours per week / teaching load up to 16 hours per week Place of employment: Campus Urstein Start: September 1, 2026 Compensation: from € 67,942 Total gross annual salary (funding taking into account qualifications and professional experience) Allowance for department head: € times per year Professorship: The functional title of FH professor is in a position that is independent of the employment contract academic procedure awarded by the FH college.
