Holiday substitutes are wanted for Home-based services in the period 22.06.2026 - 16.08.2026

Home-based services in Vågan consist of the following services:
We are divided into 3 geographical zones
We have a separate 4th zone that serves people living at home with dementia
We operate a day center for people living at home with dementia, during the day and in the evenings
We provide practical assistance (home help/cleaning) to home-based users throughout the service
For the summer of 2026, we need temporary workers who can work in the period from June 15 to August 23, and preferably continuously in weeks 26-33.

User-controlled personal assistants
Home helpers (assistants for cleaning tasks in homes)
Nursing students, nursing students and medical students
 
Vågan municipality can offer a summer contract for the Program Area Health and Coping:
Valid for the period 22.06..08.2026:
For nurses and nursing nurses who work as a holiday substitute in Vågan municipality during the contract period, an hourly wage of NOK 400 is offered
For medical students (from the 6th semester) who work as a holiday substitute in Vågan municipality during the contract period, an hourly wage of NOK 300,-
For health professionals and nursing/social care students (after 2 years of study) with a medical course who work as a holiday substitute in Vågan municipality during the agreement period, an hourly wage of NOK 300,- is offered.
Holiday substitutes as mentioned above work a minimum of 75% position for a minimum of 6 weeks during the agreement period, and receive documented travel and living expenses of up to NOK 300,-. 12,000,-
 
 
Job responsibilities
Home health services - daily care and nursing for home residents
Practical assistance for home residents
Day centers for people with dementia
Use welfare technology solutions
Participate in work with patient safety, systematic quality work and continuous improvement of the business
Qualifications
Norwegian authorization as a health professional, including: nurse, social worker, health professional
Students within the aforementioned professional group will also be able to qualify to work with us
Experience from the municipal health service
Experience with dementia and environmental work
Driving license class B
Good knowledge of Norwegian, both written and oral
A recent police certificate must be presented before joining, cf. the Municipal Health and Care Services Act §5-24
Employees must present a D number upon starting work in accordance with salary payment
