Job Description

Bergen Red Cross Nursing Home is located in pleasant premises in Ytre Sandviken in Bergen. We have very good bus connections, and the bus ride to Bergen city center is approximately 10 minutes. Our employees have free parking, and Kafé Hellen offers cold and hot dishes daily. We are far ahead in the use of IT tools for our employees. BRKS is committed to interdisciplinary cooperation. Our volunteer service, medical service, physiotherapists, activity center, occupational therapist, podiatrist and music therapist work together to provide patients and users with good and safe services of high professional quality.
About the department
The short-term and palliative department has a total of 24 beds. 16 of these beds are short-term places with a varied patient group with a wide range of diagnoses and challenges. Most patients come directly from hospitals. The last 8 beds are earmarked for patients in need of palliative care with a focus on comprehensive treatment and care for people with serious and incurable illnesses. Relief of symptoms is central, along with measures aimed at psychological, social and spiritual/existential problems.
The goal of all treatment, care and care is the best possible quality of life for the patient and relatives.
About the position
As a nurse at the short-term and palliative department, we are committed to a holistic approach to the patient. Doctors and nursing staff should have open, honest and direct communication. The department is a professionally challenging workplace with good opportunities for professional development. We have interdisciplinary meetings and very good colleague support. Some of our nurses have further education. We collaborate with KPT (municipal palliative team) and other external actors.
The nursing home has its own doctors who are part of a 24-hour duty system. This ensures good medical follow-up of our patients, and helps to give you as a nurse support and security in your work.
Job duties
· Contribute to maintaining a high professional quality of our services
· Implementation and follow-up of prescribed patient treatment
· Have a coordinating role between the different professional groups
· Medication management
· Documentation in the electronic medical record system
· Contribute to a good working environment, with a focus on joy and coping
Qualifications
In order to be considered as an applicant, we require the following:
· You are a publicly approved nurse
· You have good oral and written knowledge of Norwegian
