Unit Manager at Halsen Nursing Home
Halsen Nursing Home is an institution that provides 24-hour care for elderly/ill people who can no longer live at home. The goal is that the residents experience a safe everyday life, characterized by well-being and quality of life. Halsen Nursing Home has 50 residents and approx. 60 employees divided into approx. 42 full-time equivalents. This year, employees have started with annual rotation.
As a unit manager, you will be part of the management group in the Health sector, which includes Stjørdal Health Center, Værnes Region Emergency Room with the GP scheme, Stjørdal Home Service, and 5 residential centers/institutions. In total, the sector consists of 8 skilled unit managers.  
We are looking for a unit manager who is committed and clear. Our unit manager finds inspiration in leading professionally skilled employees and has a burning desire to develop the nursing home further. Stjørdal Municipality has started the study work for a new nursing home, and the new unit manager will have an important role in this work. 
Job duties
Responsibility for daily operations of the nursing home
Budget and performance responsibility for the unit
Personnel responsibility, including performance appraisals, guidance and professional follow-up of employees, sick leave follow-up, recruitment, etc.
Ensure a high-quality and efficient organization of the nursing home
Qualifications
Health education or other relevant education at bachelor's level or higher
Leadership experience is desirable
Leadership experience can compensate for the education requirement
Further emphasis is placed on:
Good knowledge of municipal operations and administration
Leadership education and/or other relevant further education
Experience with management, restructuring and development of service production
Good financial and legal understanding
Good collaboration skills
Personal qualities
Is a clear and inspiring leader who motivates and brings employees together to work towards common goals
Is a good relationship builder and who communicates clearly, listens actively and has the ability to give constructive feedback to employees
Is a confident leader who is able to set demands and stand in challenging situations, but who is also able to show empathy and understanding.
Knows the importance of participation and has a good dialogue with elected officials, employees and service recipients
Works structured and is goal- and result-oriented by being part of a management team, acting loyally and supportively, but also dares to challenge with a focus on development and improvement
