Smet Group, based in Dessel, is a family business with approximately 600 employees specializing in various underground technologies and water treatment since 1900. Each Smet Group company is an expert in its field. Years of experience in highly interesting and complex projects, both domestically and internationally, makes Smet Group an excellent, reliable partner.
Our Tunneling Division is a highly valued partner and an established name for tunnel boring and pipe jacking for both public and industrial clients, both domestically and internationally. We drill tunnels for utility lines, among other things, with diameters ranging from approximately 40 cm to 4 m. These are, of course, very special and interesting projects.
To strengthen this division, further respond to the increasing demand, and consolidate our market position, we are looking for an enthusiastic site manager.
- Where will you be working?
Your place of employment will vary depending on the region where the project is located, which can be either domestically or internationally (Western Europe). This can be for either a short or long period. You will develop your work schedule in consultation with the project manager.
- What will you do?
As a site manager, you are responsible for the research, preparation, daily on-site management, follow-up, organization, and implementation of your assigned projects from start to finish.
### Your responsibilities include:
You will manage your team and act as their point of contact.
You will make the necessary preparations for the site.
You will be responsible for purchasing or renting the necessary resources and monitoring them in collaboration with the purchasing department.
You will ensure the execution and follow-up of all activities during and after the work on site.

### Profile
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in construction or equivalent through experience;
You are willing to travel to accommodation;
You are a team player, have good communication skills, are creative, and enterprising; You possess a healthy dose of technical insight, an eye for detail, and are administratively punctual;
You are fascinated by technology and want to further expand your knowledge in this area;
You are customer-focused and cost-conscious.
