Job Description

The cancer ward is responsible for treating cancer and blood diseases for the population throughout Østfold and Vestby municipality. The field is in continuous development. Patients and relatives expect high knowledge and updated treatment and diagnostics. To meet these challenges, it is necessary to have employees who have the competence and professional curiosity to follow developments. There is close cooperation between the medical, nursing services and other colleagues in the ward with the goal of providing the best for our patients and relatives.
The ward consists of 3 wards, an oncology ward, a palliative ward and a hematology ward. It is a broad and exciting patient group, with many different issues. Tasks encountered in the department may include cytostatic management, side effects related to treatment with cytostatics, immunotherapy and radiotherapy, advanced symptom relief, sepsis and other infections, care, support and terminal care, as well as many different procedures. We have a close collaboration with the Center for Palliative Care, which assists with advanced palliative care, as well as a good collaboration with the cancer outpatient clinic. The department also staffs a cancer hotline that provides 24-hour assistance to patients, relatives and home care for patients with cancer who are at home. We also operate the Day Unit, which consists of 3 beds and 3 chairs, where patients are observed before and after various examinations and procedures.
We are looking for
1 x 100% permanent position in ward 10
1 x 75% permanent position in ward 10 and 25% in the full-time pool (Staffing Department)
Job Duties
Dispensing medications and documenting electronically
Guiding and training students and new employees
Collaborating with colleagues and various professional groups interdisciplinary in the organization
Taking care of patients and relatives' basic needs for care and attention
There may be changes/developments to the position.
Qualifications

Norwegian authorization as a nurse
Proficient in Norwegian, good oral and written communication
If you know a little more about cancer and blood diseases, it's extra cool
Ability to provide good care for patients and relatives
Have a good attitude towards both colleagues, care and a sense of humor in the emergency room
Keeps a cool head when many blood tests are taken, antibiotics are prescribed, several bells ring, and the doctor comes with three new messages
Doesn't run to hide when the patient's blood pressure drops faster than your blood sugar
Genuinely curious, hungry for new knowledge and development and would rather be the best in the profession!
