Job Description
We at the surgical department at the Harstad clinic are looking for you who are a nurse, nursing student or health professional to work with us in the summer of 2026.
The surgical department at the Harstad clinic is a ward with 28 beds. We are an acute surgical ward with specialties such as orthopedics, gastrosurgery, urology and cancer. This is a varied and active department, where the average length of stay is three days. The ward receives patients who need planned operations, and patients who need immediate care admission. We work closely interdisciplinary to give the patient the best treatment.
Summer temporary workers must expect to work across disciplines and training will be provided according to need. We work three-part shifts, and during the summer period, summer temporary workers work every other weekend. Applicants who can work the entire summer period will be prioritized. The current period for holiday substitutes is weeks .
Job duties
pre- and postoperative care
mobilization of patients
collaboration between different professional groups
communication with municipalities for patients who need municipal help when leaving the hospital
various nursing procedures and clinical observations
information and guidance for patients and their relatives
infusion therapy, antibiotics, fluid therapy, pain relief and medication management
documentation in the electronic patient record DIPS Arena
medication management and registration in the electronic medication curve Metavision
### Qualifications
Applicants must have a good command of Norwegian, both spoken and written, for proper professional practice.
Competence in the Dips Arena medical record system and experience from a similar department is desirable, but this is not a requirement, as individual training will be provided.
Norwegian authorization as a nurse, a certificate as a health professional or confirmation of completion of the 1st year of nursing education is required.
