Swimming instructor

Do you want to help children and young people become safe in the water and learn a vital skill?
Swimming lessons in Kristiansand are looking for a committed and confident instructor in kindergarten and school swimming. The position follows the school year.
As a swimming instructor with us, you will be part of a professional environment that works every day to give children positive experiences both in and around the water, increased water competence and good swimming skills. The work includes both teaching students in primary school (grades and water familiarization for 5-year-olds in kindergarten. The lessons take place in Aquarama and Vågsbygd cultural center between 08:00-14:00 every day.
Swimming lessons are also looking for on-call substitutes who can quickly fill in for shorter absences!
Tasks
Prepare the swimming pool and pool for teaching
Inform teachers/kindergarten teachers about routines in swimming instruction, including the locker room, shower and poolside
Implement water familiarization and activities for kindergarten children
Plan and conduct swimming lessons for school students
Adapt the lessons based on the children's age, skills and needs
Perform swimming proficiency tests and report results in school swimming
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment
Collaborate with kindergarten teachers, teachers and colleagues in the school swimming unit
Maintain safety and preparedness in connection with teaching
Other tasks may be assigned to the position as needed
Qualifications
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with children and adults
Ability to make quick decisions
Previous experience working with children, a certificate as a child and youth worker and/or experience in swimming instruction is desirable
Good swimming skills
The position requires work in water up to 4 times a day and requires good physical health. Health requirements may apply!
The lifeguard test must be taken regularly at a depth of 5m
Good written and oral knowledge of Norwegian
A valid police certificate must be presented
