Job Description

An early start is desirable. The position is linked to the project Diversity and Urbanization in the North: Securing and Organizing the Photo Collection by Knut Stokmo.
Perspektivet Museum has its main premises in the center of Tromsø. Here we show changing exhibitions and run a varied business with knowledge building, dissemination and events. The museum looks after large collections that include 25 listed buildings, around 16,000 objects and nearly 500,000 photographs. Most of the buildings are located at the museum's two open-air facilities: Perspektivet Folkeparken and Perspektivet Straumen gård.
The project aims to organize, secure and make the archive by Stokmo Foto AS accessible. The collection contains photographs, mainly from Tromsø, from the period 2005.

Tasks:
Arrangement and packaging of photographic material
Cataloguing and making photographs available
Contribute to the profiling of the photographic collection
Other relevant tasks
Qualifications/Experience:
Experience in using digital registration tools is desirable. The project uses Primus/Digitalt Museum and the Archive Portal.
Good communication skills, written and oral, in Norwegian and English.
Education in relevant subjects is desirable, e.g. history, museology, art history, photography or documentation and media studies.
