Job Description

About the position and job duties
Tromsdalen Upper Secondary School is looking for a development-oriented and committed pedagogical department head for physical education. The position is part of the school's management team, which consists of the principal, assistant principal and five department heads.
We are looking for a leader who has the students' learning, development and well-being at the center, and who wants to contribute to the further development of both physical education and the school as a whole. Our new department head is a relationship builder who is able to lead through others, while being a clear and supportive partner for employees, students and parents.
The position is 100% management, but can also involve teaching as part of the position if necessary.
Tasks and responsibilities
Lead and develop sports subjects in line with the school's goals, action plan and focus areas
Personnel and follow-up responsibility for employees in sports subjects
Active part of the school's management team and contribute to the overall development of the school's overall activities
Lead pedagogical development processes in line with the county's and school's strategies and focus areas
Lead the work with student learning and development in the center
Tasks used for the operation and development of the school, including in the school's administrative systems; InSchool, P360 and Teams.
Collaboration with, among others, special associations, sports teams, Olympiatoppen, universities and other external partners
We are looking for a leader who can add new perspectives and complementary expertise to the management team, and the final distribution of responsibilities will therefore be seen in the context of the management team's overall expertise and division of work.
 
About us
In the competence agency, we work systematically with competence environments, educational institutions and the business community to provide young people in Troms with the best possible education and apprenticeship opportunities.
We are responsible for 12 upper secondary schools, one SMI school and one vocational school for higher vocational education. We also follow up on apprentices in about 1,000 apprenticeship companies in the county.
We are also responsible for integration and career guidance for adults over 19 years of age.  
Qualification requirements
Relevant academic and pedagogical education from university or college
Good understanding of/experience from collaboration between schools, sports organizations and other partners
Teaching competence
Good digital skills
Experience and interest in working with school administrative systems
Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian
It is desirable to have:
Leadership education, for example, principal's school or educational management
Experience from educational management and personnel management
Experience with development work and management of collective learning processes
Experience from upper secondary education
Sports competence or experience from work in sports
