About the position

Trøndelag Police District has several vacant permanent positions as an operator (Police Officer 3-1) at the operations center. The operations center is a comprehensive management and coordination center for both planned and incident-driven operational activities. This applies in daily operations, during extraordinary events and in crises. The operations center handles the police emergency service (112), and other inquiries from citizens and cooperative actors. When the police chief appoints staff, the operations center shall coordinate the cooperation and lead the effort in real time. The operations center in the police district shall fulfill the function as a local rescue center. The operations center shall, through organization, alignment and interaction, facilitate preventive police work, urgent investigations and all operational activities in the police district. The positions are organizationally placed under the Joint Unit for Operational Services at the police station in Trondheim. The operators are organizationally subordinate to the section leaders at the Operations Center Section.

Tasks
Under the leadership of the operations manager and mission manager:
participate in decision-making within the operations center's area of responsibility in accordance with instructions and internal agreements
lead the police district's emergency network, as well as maintain and quality-assured logs
assess, prioritize and forward messages and missions and assign these to operational units, as well as provide necessary information, advice and assistance in connection with solving missions
carry out staff functions until staff is in place
act as liaison in staff and investigation unit (E-KO) and be a log keeper in the local rescue center (LRS)
reinforce other police functions when needed, such as police patrol (with approved IP 3/4 status) or other tasks
the position involves a 3-shift rotation
Qualifications
You must have the following to be qualified:
Passed basic education from the Police (College) College
Good knowledge and understanding of the police's social mission, organization, computer systems and planning
Good language skills in Norwegian and English
Must be able to obtain security clearance for Secret and NATO Secret

It is also desirable to have:
Experience from an operations center or broad experience from other fields in the police 
Diversity competence (for example, studies in culture, diversity or language, experience or work from multicultural youth environments, country and cultural competence, knowledge of minorities and the like)
You must have impeccable character and be fit for service in order to be employed in the police. A comprehensive and extended police certificate must be obtained and presented before any employment. When assessing whether you are fit for service in the police, information about you may be obtained from the police registers.
