Job Description

About the position
The Faculty of Health Sciences has a vacancy for a position as Vice Dean for Education. The position is a 100% fixed-term position with a duration of four years and with the possibility of 20% time for R&D work.
The position is part of the faculty's management team and is central to helping to realize the college's values, vision and strategy. The Vice Dean for Education has overall responsibility for leading and developing the faculty's education portfolio. VID is in the application process to become a university and our education portfolio is constantly developing.
For the position, we are looking for someone with a strong education and research profile and documented leadership experience from the university and college sector. You will have an important role as a driving force in the work of developing and realizing VID's and the faculty's education strategy and research initiatives.
It is desirable to start as soon as possible by agreement. The workplace is Oslo, Bergen or Stavanger.
About the faculty
The Faculty of Health Sciences is organized into two departments and one center and is active at three campuses: VID Bergen, VID Oslo and VID Stavanger. In addition, there are activities at two additional study sites in Sandnessjøen and Sandvika. The faculty offers bachelor's degrees in nursing, occupational therapy and social care and master's degrees in clinical nursing, citizenship, health and welfare and health-promoting relationship work. The faculty also offers a number of further education programs within nursing and health sciences (see vid.no/studier).
The faculty also has a PhD program in health sciences. The program aims to contribute to new knowledge about health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, nursing, care and palliation. 
The faculty has around 200 full-time employees and 3,660 students. Research is organized into research groups, see www.vid.no/forskning/forskning-ved-vid/forskningsgrupper.
Tasks
The following are included in the position:
Work actively to realize the college's adopted strategies related to educational management and educational quality
Follow-up responsibility for the faculty's total study portfolio, contribute to further developing the college's and faculty's professional profile
Promote a positive culture for competence development in teaching and supervision among the faculty's academic staff
Initiate R&D activities in collaboration with the vice-dean for research
Work actively and innovatively with flexible teaching methods and lead the work to stimulate and improve students' learning and working environments
Lead the faculty's work on internationalization within the field of education and see it in the context of the R&D initiative
Contribute to strengthening students' and staff's competence within the KI initiative, as well as critically assess e-learning and the development of digital competence within the health field through collaboration with the Section for Learning Support and Digital Education
Lead the work with the meritorious lecturers at the faculty, including, for example, sitting on the assessment committee
Participate in college-wide councils and selection 
The Vice Dean reports to the Dean and is part of the Dean's management group with joint strategic leadership responsibility for the Faculty's overall development and results. The Vice Dean has delegated authority and responsibility from the Dean for the operational area of education and internationalization. This includes responsibility for external assessment of grades, periodic evaluations, study quality and digital, multi-campus management.
Qualifications
Qualification requirements:
Preferably professorial competence within a relevant subject area, but applicants with a relevant Ph.D. and experience can be considered
Health professional basic education at minimum master's level
Documented basic educational competence upon employment
Experience with teaching and supervising from the university and college sector
It is an advantage if you also have:
Relevant management experience from the university and college sector
Experience with multi-campus, flexible education and e-learning
Insight into research and education policy and current challenges both within the university and college sector and with connections to specialist and municipal health services
Good understanding of economics
Good case management skills, and experience with Public 360 is a strength
Language requirements
To be employed in the position of vice dean, oral and written language level in Norwegian and English at B2 is required. Swedish and Danish are considered equivalent to Norwegian in this context.
