Job Description

Maria Park School's adapted primary school is looking for specialised teachers who want to make a difference for our younger students during the studies of regular staff.

About the workplace
Helsingborg City Schools is a resourceful and value-driven organisation. As an employee, you will be an important part of our shared vision to create the best school for every child and student.

Maria Parkskolan is an F-9 school in northern Helsingborg. The school has a total of around 1000 pupils. Our school consists of three school buildings in the Mariastaden area, where two of the school buildings are located in the park and one of the school buildings is located on Kullavägen. There is also an adapted primary school on Kullavägen. The beach and the sea are within easy walking distance, as is the vibrant city.

Maria Parkskolan's adapted primary school has just under 60 pupils.

We work to create a school where all pupils feel happy and safe. We create the small contexts in the big school where students will be strengthened in their self-confidence to show mutual respect for others. Our school will be an inclusive and inspiring place where all students feel welcome and respected. All pupils will achieve to the best of their ability. Our pupils will be equipped with the skills and knowledge they need for life. The starting point is zero tolerance and a promotional and preventive approach to victimisation. All adults should always react against violence and abusive behaviour.

Job description
Do you want to have an important and fun job where you help create a joy of learning for our students? As a special needs teacher, you will be responsible for teaching subjects to our older pupils. The teaching is adapted to the pupils' learning and individual needs, and we work on the basis that each pupil needs plenty of time for their learning. You work with clarifying pedagogy and adapt your teaching and pedagogical methods to the pupils' abilities. You will lay the foundations for the best possible development and aim to ensure that pupils achieve their goals. This means that you plan, conduct and evaluate teaching in a professional manner based on the school's governing documents. To support your teaching, you will collaborate with the teaching assistants in the class/group. You will belong to a team where we see you as an important part of a whole that works for all students to achieve their goals. You will take an active part in the school's development work and work well with colleagues.

What we offer

We offer you a varied, responsible and stimulating job with opportunities for personal development. The workplace is smoke-free and health-conscious. As an employee, you receive a wellness allowance of SEK 3000 per year.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a special needs teacher specialising in intellectual disabilities with experience of adapted primary school. You have experience of teaching pupils in adapted primary schools and you have expertise in working with pupils with autism. You are student-centred and responsible for the whole assignment with a high level of commitment, independence and patience. Furthermore, you are structured and flexible and can adapt your approach to the needs of the student. For the position, you need to be low-key and have a respectful approach and be able to create good relationships with both students and guardians. You also have a willingness and a well-developed ability to cooperate with colleagues in different contexts. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to identify and take initiatives yourself to create opportunities for change and development.
