Push back frontiers as a specialist technician in electromechanics

Every day at UZ Leuven, more than 10,000 driven employees combine their expertise to provide high-quality patient care. With about 200 employees, the technical department is responsible for the technical reliability of the hospital so that patient care can be provided 24/7.
The technical department consists of various departments that together are responsible for technical maintenance, management and renewal of the hospital's buildings, infrastructure, industrial installations and equipment on the various campuses (Gasthuisberg, Sint-Rafaël city campus and Pellenberg). It may not always be very visible, but in this way the technical service staff form an indispensable link behind the scenes to keep all the hospital's departments running.
As an electromechanics technician, you will work within the electromechanics department. This team is responsible for the management and technical maintenance of equipment in the kitchens and kitchens, cleaning and disinfection equipment, various care support equipment, means of transport and installations such as tubing, automatic gates and doors.


This is a full-time, open-ended vacancy.

How do you push boundaries?

You will be jointly responsible for both preventive and corrective technical maintenance on a diverse park of electromechanical devices,
The focus is on a wide range of non-medical devices and installations. Depending on our needs and your interests and competences, various techniques may be included in your tasks,
You detect defects and search for their cause. You carry out both mechanical and electrical repairs,
You support the introduction of new devices by assembly, distribution and user training and carry out adjustments,
You carry out monitoring of work by suppliers and maintenance companies and follow training courses through that,
You report to your team leader for electromechanics,
You actively share your knowledge with your direct colleagues and advise team management and engineers,
You can be employed within the various campuses of UZ Leuven.

What do you need?

You have a technical secondary education diploma or equivalent through experience and a strong interest in electromechanics,
You are customer-oriented and have good communication skills. You can work independently but also in a team,
You have a good basic knowledge of PC use,
You work in a structured way and you are aware of the importance of the continuous operation of equipment and installations,
You are flexible and willing to work sporadically outside normal working hours.
