Job Description

Come work for the largest city in Flanders. Here, every job has an impact on the city and the people who live, work, and study there. Your talent will make Antwerp even better.

The city maintains its vehicles well, so they remain safe and reliable. You'll ensure that repairs and maintenance run smoothly. You'll schedule the work, monitor progress, check quotes and invoices… Are you the strong networker we're looking for?

What will you do?

You'll be responsible for the entire vehicle repair process: from scheduling to follow-up and invoicing.
You'll be the liaison between workshops, suppliers, users, and the planning department. You enjoy collaborating effectively with your network, and you'll maintain that network.
You'll request repairs and maintenance from external garages and track them using the Planon application.
You'll inform users about lead times.
You'll critically review purchase orders and invoices. You'll know what's in the maintenance contracts. You assess whether working hours and parts prices are realistic, necessary, and in accordance with the contracts.
You advise the director and department heads on external logistics follow-up (LEO). Thanks to your technical insight, you can create a reliable cost-benefit analysis.

More information about your team

We welcome you to the city's Vehicle Center. Together with your colleague, you will monitor external repairs of all vehicles, bicycles, and machinery. You will focus on both light and heavy goods. You will also provide backup for bicycles and machinery when your colleague is absent. You will work closely with your colleagues in planning and reception, and with the managers of the various garages.

You have a bachelor's degree or a higher vocational education (HBO5) diploma, or a university candidate's degree. Or you have a secondary school diploma or a 6th-year vocational education certificate and at least 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector.
You meet the application requirements of the city of Antwerp.
In this job, you will be neutral, as you will have direct contact with customers. Therefore, we do not wear any external symbols of philosophical, religious, political, or other beliefs in this role.
You have good technical knowledge of vehicles: passenger cars, light trucks, heavy trucks, and possibly garbage trucks. Knowledge of smaller (green) vehicles and (electric) bicycles is a plus.
Training in automotive mechanics is a plus.
You have strong administrative skills.
Knowledge of the Planon Partner Platform is a strong asset.
Knowledge of the financial process, from quote to invoice, is a plus.
Professional experience with commercial vehicles is a plus.
You are flexible and act as backup for your colleagues.
A category B driving license is preferred.
You identify with the city's values and are committed to making Antwerp a better place.
